I was wondering if Build 21 – Release Version is coming soon. I really loved it.
I hat to go back to Build 20-Release Version because of productions safety.

Just wanted to do the update today. Had downloaded release build 21 some time ago (21.3.2). Now it´s gone from the site. Does that mean big problems with that build ? Or can I still install it ?

Beter to install a beta version of build 21. or if you have commercial production you better stick tp released build 20

I just shot another job with the vanished "release" build 21 with zero problems. 4K HD, 16x9, 28, with audio. 24fps, 180° shutter. LCD & EVF. Recorded to Red Drives.

I wonder if the reported problems are related to cameras that have not been upgraded by Red?

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

The build was pulled after a few people reported problems... We haven't heard anything since. I was thinking the same thing as Leo about non-upgraded cameras, but supposedly one or two people with the problems had higher serial numbers over 3500.

If you have already upgraded to that build, no reason to stop using it. It's fully functional and has the richest feature set of any build to date.

But we had a few reports of boot up issues with certain cameras, so until we are 100% certain that's no longer an issue, we pulled it.

Ah! Actually, I did have a couple of boot failures, quickly and easily remedied by simply hitting the power button a second time. I thought nothing of it because this has been what I like to call an, "undocumented feature," with every build I can remember.

I thought it was related to over-voltage with Anton Bauer 140 batteries, but it happened even with batteries that had been half depleted.

At any rate, it's an insignificant problem in my case.

Good shooting and best regards,

Hi Stewart,

Just to let you know:
When i put the relased build 21 on my own camera, there where no problems. But than i hat to put it on a other camera and there was no working LCD and EVF anymore. Went after 2 times upgrading released build 21 with the same results effect and upgraded back too 20 again and everything was working as normal again.
So i decided to go back on 20 in my own camera for safety.
And yes 21 is great!!

regards Robert

A release build should be a RELEASE BUILD. Glad it was pulled. "Release" when ready...looking forward to it.
