One of my photos from the CARMA telescope array in August just got published in the December issue of Scientific American magazine for a story about black holes. My first photo ever published. :001_smile:

Stunning photo.

Scientific American! Nice job. And very nice shot from what I can tell.

F'ing congratulations Tom!
On the entirely opposite side of the photographic spectrum here are some lazy test shots from my most recent lomo purchase. The diana mini. It shoots half frame 35mm...which I've noticed is 4 perf.

All shot from the hip with crappy Agfa 800 ASA film.

Congrats on the publishing Tom!

I had my Home Theater high-lighted in the web edition of Electronic House (http://www.electronichouse.com/article/diyer_spends_3_years_researching_theater/D1/)

and it was selected for inclusion in the print edition in January.

It's a cool feeling, isn't it?

Again, nicely done... I've always enjoyed your pics/timelapses you've posted here.

Here are a few concert photos I took on my Mamiya M645...

The band is MUTEMATH, and the drummer pictured is Darren King, who is one of the funnest people I've ever taken a picture of.

[Austin Glass]

Also from the M645. Can anyone guess who this person is?

[Eren Ozkural]

Havent been very active here lately...Motion work has taken over ditial stills for a while heheh...

Just took some snaps on Oxford Street on the way home from a meeting this evening.
I love crouching/sitting by department store windows to get candid snaps and street portraiture. You get lovely difused lighting, a variety of subjects. A variety of reactions. I prefer approaching people and taking portraiture against a street studio ala Clay Enos but this is my second favourite type of street shooting. And it requires no prep at all

[Paul Leeming]

Hi folks, it's been a while since I posted too but never fear, it's because I was home in Australia for a short holiday, so I took some photos there for a change instead of always shooting here in Japan!

Enjoy!

Paul, that beach is unbelievable. Is that New Zealand or Australia? Where is it? I wonder if it is warm enough to go for a dip. Exposure looks too perfect in my monitor so I might bring mid-gray down a % or two to make it a tad more realistic... then again being so close I shouldn't say anything unless I were sitting in front of a better screen. Great subject and colors for "Dusk Over Metropolis". Have you tried sharpening the city a bit more? Maybe bringing down the very bottom end of the curve for the city a tad further instead of sharpening. I am starting to guess that I am seeing your grade correct, and maybe we just have slightly different taste.

Eren, I really like the first and second of your last three. Great captures. I like the girl's composition far better but the the kid's expression is special, and he has the whole Beatles thing going. How much do you shoot a week? You keep posting great gritty stuff. I really like a lot of your stuff.

Austin, I really like your second drummer. Not only is it a good expression, but everything about the grade and the composition is fantastic. The hell's he got on his head/neck?

Below is my father in law with Lilly at about one month of age. I had no light but wanted to get this intimate moment so DoF galore, but I think it works. Medium and small.
