  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Timelapse Reel# 5 (Shot on the 5D2)

Simply beautiful. Keep up the good work Andrew.

What is the piece of music in the video?

You always pick such great classical pieces of music. It doesn't get much better than your Griffith shots. 5D2 is apparent later in the clip. I like the wide open crossroad you shot.

The 1D4 is even more ridiculous in terms of sheer ISO ass kicking.

I would totally get the 1D4 if it was full frame. I guess I'll just have to wait until the 1Ds4 comes out. There's always room for higher ISOs with lower noise. Just opens up some real possibilities for timelapse or even motion capture work.

the gang's respect

btw.. is any one of these shots that location where that rendez-vous happened?

Fifth timelapse demo. You are really cranking out the quality and quantity.
Digg the ruined foundation on 4:25.
I would love to try out the 1d4 but i have a long way to explore the 5d2.

Yeah there's a lot to learn and shoot with the 5D2. Plus the 1D4 isn't full frame, which in the DSLR world is a deal breaker for me. I'll just wait until Canon comes out with another full frame high ISO camera.

Hi Andrew,
Beautiful images. Impressive.
What do you find is the frame ratio sweet spot for a city time lapse ?

Between .5 seconds to 4 seconds. It depends on what your shooting in the city.

Really well done Andrew! Your compositions are really improving. They were good before, but they are becoming stronger, more powerful. I can also tell the 5dmk2 is enabling you to get shots I wasnt seeing from you before.

Thanks man, I'm always trying to out do my last reel. I might have to start getting into dolly moves here soon to really step it up. But for right now I'm enjoying keeping my rig simple. I'm really glad I got the 5D2 because it has really opened up some new shots for me that weren't there before. Or at least they would have looked way to noisy on my 40D.

I love shooting timelapse on a DSLR because of how small it is and how cheap they are to own. Plus I make my money back on them fairly quickly.

That was beautiful and inspiring, I think I'll go take some tonight

Yeah, a lot of people see this and then want to go out and give it a go. I think that's cool that something like this video would make people want to go out and shoot timelapse.
