Hey; i'm a fcp guy, did some transcodes for a client of a client via redrocket; he's saying he can't get the dnxhd mxf's into his system and wants to obviouslly know how to get them into his bins; in avid speak what buttons should i tell him to press as i don't know what any of the setups look like!

thanks in advance!

he should copy the mxf files into the avid media files directory, then import the ALE which you should generate via redrushes, after that he should have all the metadata in his bin, then he should mark all the files and doing right click and performing a relink.

its quite easy....

if he is a little bit firm with avid it should make no troubles...

hopefully you dont have 24.00 fps footage....

best,
rainer

Once the MXF files are copied in the Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 (or other folder within the MXF folder), you can either:

1. Select all the AAF files created by ROCKETCINE-X in drop onto a bin and they will link automatically. If you want more metadata:

2. Import ALE, select ALL and do a relink.

You can also just drop all the MXF files into the avid media folder Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1/... and use the media tool to scan for any new clips. No need for AAF or ALE at all unless you need all the metadata which you probably don't :)

Cheers.
