  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EasyRig Convert

So I ve just released the new rig of my works The Acrobat. You can view a render of it and a Epic on board to see how it looks like. The rig showing is for shoulder mode.an additional U bracket will screw on the gimbal so you can mount this on the easy rig with its grip. You can now have a perfectly balanced on COG fully adjustable on both sides , for X,Y axis. The new Acrobat will only work with the Epic and Scarlet.
Parts are being made now after tests and the rig will be available very soon. Just waiting for Epic AND Scarlet to come into life so I can finalize touches.
The price is introduction price and might change after the release of the product.
 
Check out this month's ASC mag article for 'Where the Wild Things Are', shows them using multiple Easyrigs on their 35mm setups
 
EasyRig Cine 3 + Mantis ET will definitely rock even with (lightweight !?) brand new EPIC-X!!!!
 
hello Sanjin, as I have stated before in other threads , the HR-1D and the new ACROBAT, are way different than any shoulder mount on the market today, and they do a completely different job in stabilizing as well as having rotational abilities for easy movement of the operator. These are new devices, I know that people are being skeptical about them, but is only a few days now that the first bunch will get to the hands of their owners and you get a better understanding of them.As for the Mantis its a great shoulder mount and best quality made product. But way different.

must say that HR-1D looks promising.

Also EasyRig is a sort of light variant from Walter Klassen's "The Suspender"

I like EasyRig's ability to fast&easy switch between shoulder and "fly-cam" position at handheld.

In my next Quick & Dirty test I'll show a footage that combine shots from those two positions during handheld,

plus on camera line in sound recording using MixPre from Sound Devices with Rode NTG3

and shooting in available light @ wide open, pulling focus at tiny DOF (Depth of Focus) using

Cosina Voigtlander Nokton f/1.1 50mm super fast and "affordable" Leica M rangefinder FF35mm lens on RED1.

EFP/ENG RED1 shooting in available light at its best coming soon.

We just completed shooting "The Afflicted", a feature film using two RED cameras and two Easyrigs. Many of the days were handheld and I'm certain that I couldn't have held up without the Easyrig. I laugh when I hear people compare it to a Steadicam because that's not what it's designed to be. The easyrig actually allows you to have a look and production value that you just can't accomplish shooting handheld alone. It may be one of the better investments that I have made and I can't imagine not having it nearby on a RED shoot.

Hello I dont think people compare easy rig to steadicam, its a rig that supports the camera weight to go on your hips and its very good for that job.
I personaly think that mixed up together with my rigs can also provide very stable moves and not just support, and Iam talking about walking shots.
You will see all that as soon as I finish vids and demos I believe its a very good mix.

Check out this bts from my last shoot, gotta love the easyrig! Would have taken a jib otherwise and this was just so much faster

Ive been trying to order one from you guys for almost 2 weeks... no response... i know its a holiday now, but curious why the super slow communication? I would love a Cinema 3 600N... but also dont see that config in any of the setups on your site.

also make sure the special red hook comes with it (its bigger than the default one)

Hello. I am writing this to be addressed to all easy-rig owners using it with the R1 and planning on using it with Epic and Scarlet.
Quik remark. I have found playing around with an easyrig that when in low mode shooting hheld , having the camera supported from the top handle, balance 50/50, when I was tilting it to have a low angle frame it was quite uncomfortable and that was because the camera wasnt balance at center of gravity for tilt. The camera was fighting back while walking.
So I came up with an idea that can eliminate this completely and have the camera balanced on cg for tilt axis. I have designed a bracket system which is very very light, that you connect on your R1, and is also universal for Epic and Scarlet, that you can balance and hang the camera on CG , from the easyrig grip.
it takes minimum space, designed from CF tubes and a bracket system.
It completely balances the camera in 2 axis and make your moves more stable.
So my question is this. How whould you easy-rigers feel about a system like this?
Cost will be something like 500 euro complete.
Would you be interested?
I d like to hear your opinion and feedback.
