Anyone else notice the occasional spinning ground glass "reflection" thingie in some of the Stormchasers footage? I'm assuming the Discovery guys were shooting a 35mm spinning GG adapter and went outside the tolerances, but never having shot a spinning adapter I'm not sure if this is what I'm seeing.

What I'm seeing looks like the reflection of a spinning CD ghosted in the background that covers the entire screen.

It has shown up about 2 or 3 times an episode, usually right after the camera guy jumps out of a car to shoot the chasers while they're outside the vehicle doing their own (very crappy) shooting.

Also, would someone please get the chaser guys a freakin tripod or monopod or something for goodness sake.

Well lookie there, I've never seen one of those before. The problem is, I'm seeing it at all. It's terribly distracting when it shows up although maybe they'd be worse off without it.

Thanks for the info, it's been driving me nuts.

That's what it is, I made a post about it in the other thread you asked about it.

They give me a head ache, I sold mine and will not use it again, the show didn't use them last year, this is ther first year using them and they need to get rid of them for next season.

Thanks Chip, I didn't delete my other post in time I guess. I realized (too late obviously) that I was hijacking that other guy's thread.

I'm guessing to use one properly that you've got to keep your shutter speed within certain tolerances or it'll show up, or do they just appear at random times no matter how careful you are?
