Complete set of Eleven (11) Canon K35 Primes with extras. [Photos]

Amazing set of lenses with an even more amazing history. You probably have seen these lenses on the big screen at one point or another!

I am a huge fan of these lenses but changing mounts so often is really taking its toll and I am not sure how many more changes we are going to be able to pull off before we do permanent damage to the RED Collar. The Visual Products Mount is very well made... top quality as their products always are. In fact, it's probably the best mount out there in terms of sheer quality, finish and durability.

If you are nearby, please call to set up a time to swing by, we can have them mounted on a RED for you to test. The lenses are being sold to acquire another set of PL mount lenses.

MAKE OFFER!
Best offer takes all Eleven lenses and extras, will not separate.

Please make your best reasonable offer. As with everything we sell, after we speak and you are given a verbal description, everything will then be committed to paper. If the lenses arrive in any condition other than discussed, I will take them back no questions asked.. again, my integrity is the most important thing after you being happy. We are in no rush to sell with Xmas it may take a few weeks. But they will find a new home for sure.

Lenses will ship from the lens repair shop direct to you after post-sale conversation takes place. I will send them in for a full cleaning at my expense. Call anytime and I will arrange for you and one of my techs to speak with you pre-sale. Lenses can be described to you in exacting detail... more photos sent, etc. If needed, you will have the opportunity to have any modifications made post-sale (mount, etc.).

I want you to feel good about doing business with us. I will always be able to come around here without shame or fear of being hunted down! We are pretty visible and a bad sale is not worth it. Will post these on eBay Friday if there is no interest here.

Thanks for looking,
Billy

Moviecam is on the housings Nick. I apologize if I am wrong, I purchased them as K-35's:

http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20577&highlight=canon+k+35

Absolutely no intention to misrepresent them and I know Tony would not do the same to me... but I can't say if I know for sure. I had a set of (3) speed lenses at one point but did not know that K-35 is what designated them as such..

Always learning at this! What makes it so much fun... great lenses by the way! I have been asked for some stills or R3D's which we'll post tomorrow...

Hi,

These may be rehoused canon still lenses, but they are not k35s see below. I'm sure they are very nice lenses, just trying to avoid confusion.

Tony.. paging Mr. Covell. Can you chime in as to why they were sold to us as K35's? I have seen other auctions that have named the 2.0 - 2.8 lenses as K35 as well (other dealers).

Not that the name really matters to me, they are GREAT lenses... not as fast as the other set we have, but they are ~creamy~ goodness. A delicious set at that!

Ok.. more and more facts surface. This is great as I am learning quite a bit as well. This info comes fro mTony Covell, the lens dealer I purchased the set form last year.

I never meant to mis-represent them, I was told and on my sales invoice AS WELL AS ON THE ETCHED FLIGHT CASES is the designation Canon K35.

These lenses were made in Austria for Moviecam in spec like the Canon K35 and are very, very high quality. Think of them as a Moviecam very own K35 version for their cameras. Just not as fast but many more lengths to choose from (11 focal lengths in this case).

This is a very special and rare set, Moviecam supplied several sets in the 70s and 80s for rental houses throughout the UK and Europe.

They shot Aliens 2 with this exact set. And a picture Carravagio in the UK. They also shot several other pictures like Desperately Seeking Susan in the USA. Canon came out with the same lenses about a year to 18 months later down the line and called them K35 which indeed was the Moviecam name as K series.

Hope this help, I am getting a lot of interest now after digging up more info... We have a lot more lenses we'll be posting over the next several days for sale. It's a buyers market and we know that so get ready for some good deals as we are looking to make room and further specialize in the Birger Systems.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is a set of standard speed K-35's designed by Ryusho Hirose & Jiro Mukai in 1972, supplemented by still lenses to fill out the set, and then rehoused in 1978 by Moviecam. Walter & Fritz did not start using the Moviecam branding until 1976.
The super speed version of these lenses was then redesigned by Hiroshi Suzukawa in 1976, and then finally updated to the final ultra fast T1.3 version.
This particular rental set was based out of Surrey.
All the Best!

yes and lots of interest! They have a very color saturated look, creamy (not soft but glowing). They can be razor sharp (most lenses) but need lots of light.

Will have a few samples here in the next hour or so to post up!

What's the front diameter on all those puppies?

Hi everybody.
I originally sold these lenses to Billy. They are as stated but are mounted BNCR. I supplied a VP Mount with them. This was best part of 18months ago from memory.
They were originally supplied by Moviecam, they are not CP Conversions as far as I know. They carry NO CP logos at all. These lenses were known in the UK as K35 and were in wide use by everybody during those times. I was the Moviecam agent at the time. We; among others of the period had probably 30 or 40 sets in the UK to my memory being used on films and commercials.
The cases are labelled K35, again from memory. Lenses like these are a superb example of Canon primes and were used on Films and commercials I supplied kit to as a Rental House back then. One such film was Aliens 2 which was shot entirely on K35 lense sets.
Now 18 months ago these were offerred on Reduser and Billy purchased them at the time. I sold several other sets around that time. Now all you guys and others have become experts since then and you should not write detrimentally about them. They are a superb low cost entry lens set! Where else can you buy a complete set of lenses cased like this for use with RED at this price?
I expect to be shot down in flames as forums work that way.
Kindest to you all.
Tony Covell
