Hi everyone... The new music video by the breakout Rap Artist Toki Wright was shot on Red #557 by Dave Wilson Director/Camera op/Editor of "Hustle and Fish" fame, Jesse Cairnie DP/Gaffer/CC and Andrew Benz Red Tech/CC/Key Grip back in late June/early July in the beautiful Twin Cities.

Very special thanks to Toki Wright, Tony Bones, Reggie Henderson, Long Doe Records, Rhymesayers Entertainment, Jesse, Dave and the St.Paul/MPLS crew for a great experience! The video is playing on mtv2 and mtvmusic.com...

This is the first of five music videos that are about to drop for some of MPLS/St. Paul's most talented rappers... I hope ya'll enjoy. I will also be happy to explain whatever you want to know about this videos production or post process. But I will say this was shot with a crew of three in a day and half on a comparatively small budget.

The youtube verion in HD looks much better than the mtvmusic.com but I will leave both links for you guys to compare if you would like...

Last, I want to thank Red and all the Red employees who have been there for me over the past 19 months or so... and of course my fellow red users/friends here... I greatly appreciate everything and would not be enjoying such great adventures without your help, knowledge and encouragement.

Congrats, Andrew, looks really good.

Great beat, too.

I like Atmosphere and damn I've been sleeping on the Rhymesayers label, this is good hiphop music! Good video, nice clean shots and it complimented the song well. Who else did you shoot videos for in Minni?:thumbup1:

What lenses did you use?

3 Lenses were used:

The Red 18-50mm T3 CFZ

A full Lensbaby pl mount kit with tel, wide and macro attachments...

And a S16 Optex/Canon 10.5-210mm T 2.4 Zoom.

Thank you for the feedback and I am glad you guys liked the video, Toki is a great guy and a very talented Artist. I feel the same way about Dave Wilson the Director and Jesse Cairnie the DP, we had the best time in MPLS/St. Paul and I look forward to more work with them soon!

I will get into the other artists and labels that we worked on a little later but I am glad to hear that you liked the vibe Daniel. Dave is a great Director to work with... I learned a lot.:)

I got some messages and a couple of texts to throw some pics of the Optex/Canon S16 10.5-210mm T2.4 zoom up in this thread so people could check it out so here are three quick pics... Please forgive the fact that I did not have my lens support system hooked up when my friend Jordan and I snapped the pics... but hey, who doesn't love some gear porn!. :hand::blush:

Hi Daniel, Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it. Now, off the top of my head the other artist's that have videos coming out are...

Prof/St. Paul Slim "Horses in the Ghetto" for the Stophouse Music Label

St. Paul Slim "Is this Mic on?" for the Stophouse Music Label

And a short film for Long Doe Records Artist Tony Bones that should be really cool! But honestly, all these videos had great concepts!

There is another project but I can't think of it of it right now... :)

Great video Andrew, thanks for sharing. Hope all is well.

Hey Michael! I am doing great my friend! Thank you again for the incredible support, this was one of the projects where your service was absolutely invaluable. You really took care of me on the zoom and you made me look like a hero to my clients. I cannot genuinely thank you enough...

BTW, anyway you can talk to Uncle Jarred about about my participating in the M-X beta program? I have some big things about to happen here in Chicago and NYC if everything rolls right... And I am constantly working the indie film market and commercial world, plus my very special vérité doc series.

Thank you sir!
