I am going to Romania to DIT a feature and bringing all my kit from the US. I am wondering what I will need to do to power my harddrives and other accessories? My laptop is easy, just get the travel kit from Apple.

I just got a little 85watt 220 to 110 adapter that I think I can plug in a surge suppressor to and connect the harddrives, USB hub, eSATA hub, etc. The stuff I need to power only pulls like 26w.

Any input from you guys in Europe about what I need to do to power my accessories.

Thanks,
Dusty

Hey Dusty,

If you look at the tags on your gear I think you will find that most electronics use universal power these days.

Usually 100v - 240v auto sensing. Definitely the Red stuff, laptops, probably most hard drives.

All you will probably need is an adapter and plug in a power strip. Not even a transformer, just a simple adapter to make it fit.

Have a look, I travel everywhere and it's pretty rare that I need to actually convert power.
