there was also a trailer they did that they were going to attach to the michael jackson movie but the trailer was pg13 and the mj movie is pg...so it got axed...

shot on build 21 at 4.5k rc42 and then high speed stuff at 3k. i think it mixes well with the feature footage.

The color gradings sweet,
What made you choose 4.5k ? anything particular?

we were trying to match the aspect ratio of the feature for the trailer. it was wayne's decision and the label agreed...i had tried to convince wayne to use it on a video a couple of days earlier, i guess i wore him down.

i love the format it is very cinematic and actually uses less drive space.

Thanks DINO
that gives me the feeling that its worth trying out.

BTW I got the feature totally thanks to you.
We start Tuesday.
I keep owing you,
1 day ill be able to get you back.
Who knows when but 1 day.

The opening scene shows him walking in slow mo but singing in time.
It's an interesting effect. During the take, was he singing along to sped up audio?

That has been pretty much standard in music videos for years. The artist mimes to a track slowed to match the over-cranked film rate. All pretty simple stuff but can be very effective. One of the best uses of this technique was in the Bjork video for "Oh So Quiet" directed by Spike Jonze.

Can't comment on the video posted by Dino, because like Craig I'm in the wrong region:(

actually, j david is right, the music was speed up to match the camera frame rate, so the artist sings fast.

it is posted on a lot of other sites, search for adam lambert 2012 and you should find his site and others where it persists.

Oh boy I haven't been paying attention to music videos since ...
Nirvana smells like teen spirit. *laugh* Now I do feel old!

I remember seeing a behind the scenes video of Green Day's "American Idiot" video (directed by the same director of Smells Like Teen Spirit) and they did the same thing with the sped up music.

carlos...we shot at 48 and 60

yeah i saw that too...why oh why.
