The entire REDUSER forum is a nice cross section of the highly professional and experienced filmmaker and the novice learner. It is also a very active forum where great knowledge is passed on.

Having the other camera sections keeps everyone in the loop of what other camera companies are doing, as well as providing professional opinions and resources about these cameras. I've learned far more about the 7D and Arri's new cameras from reduser than I have from the camera companies respective forums and websites.

To me, reduser is the best filmmaking forum and resource on the internet. I feel it almost as important a contribution to the filmmaking community as the RED ONE itself.

I think it is far better to ban individual users, as opposed to punishing everyone in the reduser community.

Respectfully,

Here's an idea for those who want an "other cameras" section... Behave appropriately, and respectfully in it...

People seem to think they can talk all kinds of nasty in here it appears... and it not only reflects poorly on them, but, more importantly, it reflects poorly on the whole of REDuser. We don't endorse a lot of the kind of discussion that has been going on in here, adn when it gets linked to around the web, it appears as though we do, and it makes the whole site look bad. We aren't into disrespectful behavior to one another, or to company and/or camera bashing. Lord knows RED has seen it's own fair share of the latter. And, it's just ugly in general.

Anyways (no offense intended to you, by the way), we've already got a handle on the whole "to other camera, or not to other camera" idea.

Thanks.

later,
Jason

We have already stated that "Other Cameras" is staying. Just play nice.
