boot up problem

I just got my new Red One this week and am wondering if anyone has experienced the following....most times when I boot up the camera it hangs for a minute or so then power down briefly then boots up normally. Sometimes it just boots up normally with out the brief hanging. Perhaps I should reinstall the firm ware and see if this fixes the problem? Any advise would be gratefully received...:confused1:

Re-installing the firmware is always a good troubleshooting procedure.

Also, check the battery connection (if running off battery). Could the battery be depleted?

thanks martin am just waiting for Red assist to respond....I am on mains as I have all the new toys with no batteries.......gggrrrrr

Hi Ross,

Having an HDMI cable connected when booting up has caused me some problems, so I disconnect it when booting. Not sure if you've got any monitoring connected...

And we're expecting some gorgeous footage of Daintree from you :emote_happyhappy:

no HDMI cables connected ...it does it about 50% of the time now.......I shoot mainly underwater but will shoot something nice in the rainforest to cater to your request heheh
