I am trying to get my hands on some test footage to do some practice color correct. Someone pointed me to red relay however they are under a site overhaul. Is there another place i can download footage to play with in color correction/?

Just the shear size of red's raw footage size almost makes it impossible. Think 2GB/min for 4K, someone would have to spend a ton of money on bandwidth and storage just to handle that kind of download. I don't foresee it anytime soon.

Hello,

I usually grab movie sequences using DVDshrink on a PC or using ISHOWu-HD on my mac. The plates wont be full rez so you be able to test the efficiency of your system but you'll get your chance to push colors around or analyze the work of feature colorists. ISHOWu-HD lets you output a wide variety of different file formats that will most likely work with your Color Grading app where as DVDshrink will give you a .VOB file. I usually convert those using Need4Video softwares. They have a great video converter that lets you import pretty much everything and export again a wide variety of movie formats... Hope this help!
