Hi everybody. I've just upgraded my R1 with b21. Everything is ok (on camera side). I copied footages on my mac and began to edit them. Here's the problem. I had to upgrade RedAlert and Red Raw codec to see the videos. Using RedAlert and Quicktime proxies (in quicktime player) everything is perfect. BUT there's no chance to use b21 footages in Premiere CS4. If I shoot with REDCODE42 I don't see anything (black clip) and premiere crashes. If I shoot REDCODE28/36 I see the clip, but Premiere crashes again... Also old projects are instable and crashes...

I had to re-install RED RAW codec (3.8) and premiere come back working properly...

So, it's possible to edit in CS4 build21 footages?!

Exscuse me for my english!!

If I am not mistaken, CS4 does not yet support build 21. You might want to convert your files first with a Red app to a QT file and then edit in with Adobe.

Does anyone even knows if Adobe is working on a new plugin? I was on the Adobe forum and I read someone from adobe saying they checked build 21 and did not see too much difference except for 4.5K options....it almost sounded like Adobe had not heard about the new Color science or the new Redcode 42..... I certainly hope that is not the case as they do not appear to see the need to upgrade their plugin...hopefully the RED team made them aware of the important changes....

The main problem is CS4 is completely unstable after installing RED RAW CODEC 3.9

I can't use even old projects... After re-installing RED RAW CODEC 3.8 CS4 returns to be working. obiusvly I can't edit build 21 footages....

I have been asking this since Build 20 came out.

No answer yet.

EDIT: I have just heard that Premiere CS4.2 should be coming out in October.

I have also been asking if Adobe will be given the neccessary info and sample files in advance so that Premiere and AE will be able to work with Epic and Scarlet when they come out.

No answer yet.

Build 21 footage opens perfectly in CS4 on the Windows side, so this problem with CS4 would seem to be confined to either the Mac version of CS4 or more likely a problem with your setup, as my client edited build 21 footage successfully on the Mac using CS4.1.
