I was cutting a film that was shot on an HVX and a RED on FCP 6.0. I set up my sequence settings for the project for the HVX footage (there was more of it) and cut the RED scenes on proxies in separate sequences for each scene. That way I wouldn't have to render every time I made a change in a certain scene (Each scene was shot on either RED or HVX, never both). After I made the changes in a RED scene, I would have to render the master sequence, but that was okay because it was usually time to take a break anyway.
We had a little bit of a break in post, so I decided to upgrade to 7. I know that it's not usually a good idea to upgrade in the middle of a project, but mine overlap so much I am ALWAYS in the middle of a project. Everything works great, except now, in some of the RED sequences there is no video, just a grey screen.
BUT! (this part is important)
The nested sequences have video when I play the master sequence. It's only a problem if I go in to the nested sequence and try to view it...which makes it kinda hard to edit a scene..
Any thoughts?
