  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Origo Start and Stop Switch

The Origo Drama has been discussed at length in other threads and from what I see has culminated into a resoloution regarding the cabling issue. Pawel, by rehashing a defect which has been resolved and portraying it in the light of a current issue is dangerous. Being a disgruntled customer doesn't give you a perpetual carte-blanche on complaints wherever VF post communications.. The cable issue has been resolved. Unless you are saying it hasnt been, I dont see the need for the attacks.

Ace,

I'm not attacking anyone or portraying anything. I set out some facts.

No real answer to what caused the problem was ever identified. To my knowledge neither Red nor Jarred Land changed their assessment on Origo since they assessed it to be dangerous. I'm $800 out of pocket and I have a gimmick that I do not dare connecting to the camera ever again.

If, as you say, the problem was resolved, then would you personally guarantee that my camera will not be damaged by connecting my Origo to Red One? Yes or No? :toetap05:

If, as you say, the problem was resolved, would you kindly pick up my repair bill? It is attached for your convenience. Yes or No? :toetap05:

If you have not answered Yes to both above, then you lost your argument, Ace. because, clearly, I have an unresolved problem.

I didn't start this thread. If, as you say, Origo was discussed in other threads, why is John V. coming up with a fresh one to advertise his product? Advertising is not allowed here, so let's discuss it, offer some relevant facts and opinions about it.

Accordingly I provided my first-hand experiences that have not been resolved. If you find them harsh, you either need to show that my statements are false, which you haven't, or accept that they are harsh.

I'm deeply disturbed by the fact that ViewFactor is coming out here again trying to flog their untested and unapproved products that are either riddled with bugs or do not exist at all. The general lack of testing, quality control and honesty from ViewFactor is deplorable and I see absolutely nothing inappropriate in bringing them up on this forum as clearly and as boldly as they are.

Of course, any View Factor fanboy has every right to disagree with me here. This is what this forum is all about. But, so far neither you nor any other poster could provide any substance to their argument.

Do you think I enjoy an argument? No! And neither does Leo Tichelli or Jarred Land. It takes courage to bring those issues out and put your name forward to highlight a problem. But, it is important.

Speaking of which, what is your real name? :001_tt2:

It should also be pointed out that that connector issue has long been resolved. If anyone is interested they can read through the 10 page posting under the crucial ordinance thread. All new shipping origos have Lemo connectors and are no more susceptible to damaging the camera than any other third party accessory that gets plugged into the auxiliary connectors.

How come you guys can post on here, but not on the Inclinio/Imperio thread where people are screaming out for answers and working units?

...Perhaps if Pawel sent his Origo back at Viewfactor they could check it out and give a definitive answer.

Just an update that I have received the Origo back from VF and they did not find anything wrong with it and declined any responsibility.

Anyone brave enough to plug it into their Red One?

Actually...my two Red cameras are rented out all the time since November ´08 with an Origo and original coiled cable (Lemo connectors) each... happily working, no problem till now!
