EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-IHF5aW8Qk here's the video.

I shot a music vid for artists Mook & Fair for their new song, "Who's Your Daddy" featuring DJ Webstar. Because we decided to shoot the "10 Crack Commandments" on Build 21, I also ended up shooting this one on B21 too, even though the director and I decided to opt for 16x9 for this particular video.

This is where I first noticed how big a difference exposure was on RAW vs REDSpace. On the screengrabs below, the performance shots with the white background ended up being overexposed once viewed in REDSpace. I ended up dropping the ISO in RA from 320 to 200 to get proper exposure back. God bless RAW.

Otherwise, I had a great time with Build 21.

Oh..... the shoot was fun too.

Sooo.. video was just about done with the edit, when the client noticed that there seems to be a crop in some of the footage.

I talked to the editor and they seemed to have exported the final edit in 2k. Problem is the 3k 2:1 overcranked shots were preserved (in terms of AR) and the 4k 16:9 shots were cropped off the top/bottom. I told the editor that they should resize the 3k 2:1 shots (which are less in amount of shots) to match the aspect ratio of the 4k 16:9 shots before exporting. What do you guys do to preserve the frame?

Sucks they figured out this issue after the colorist finished his work.

Anyways, videos about finished once this is sorted out, and I'll post up as soon as its available.

are you using red cine make every thing 1080 and size the 4k to 1080 to match the 3k 2:1 with the same crop if your not going to film just master in 1080.

I think they are doing a native R3D edit and bringing it into color and back out again. I had the same problem with the G-Fella edit and color but I forgot my work around for it.

I'm not editing it actually. This is what the director communicated to me. I'll be sure to pass along the suggestion. But yeah, as Spike says they already transcoded to ProRes for this.

Thanks for the help.
