Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew what the cheapest place to buy a lemo to lemo 5 pin timecode cable? I have found the 3' one for $75, but that's the cheapest. I know they are only ever going to be so cheap because of the lemo connection (hint red: use a BNC on the epic and future cameras since there is a crap load of bnc's on every set), but it doesn't hurt to save a $ if you can.

Why a 5 Pin Lemo...

Why a 5 Pin Lemo...

The Lemo 5 Pin is an industry standard for professional time code.

Pin 1 = Ground
Pin 2 = Time Code in (Typically 100 mV sensitivity)
Pin 3 = Aaton ASCII protocol in/out
Pin 4 = Tune signal in 1.92 MHz
Pin 5 = Time Code out

For those of us that own (or will potentially use) Ambient Tri-level sync Lockit boxes and/or Clockit controllers - we want that pro connector to stay - it provides functionality and is part of a complete system.

If you are thinking BNC's - there are adapter cables for both Time Code in and Time Code out available on the market.

Sound Devices:
XL-LB2 5 Pin Lemo -> (2) BNC's I/O 30"long

Remote Audio:
REM CATCI0BNC 5 Pin Lemo -> (2) BNC's I/O 3' long

None of these are less than $75, but they do make sense to have in a complete package - you will find the same 5 Pin Lemo connectors on other units such as the 744T.

Check with Mitch Gross at Abel Cine Tech or Buzz Turner at www.turneraudio.com for the Sound Devices cables. Trew Audio makes the Remote Audio cables - all good resources.

I was able to purchase a 5 Pin Lemo to single BNC to feed time code, but cannot remember who I bought it from (but it was less than 75).. Ask around.

Other Sound Devices cables for reference:
XL-LL 5 Pin Lemo -> 5 pin Lemo
XL-LX 5 Pin Lemo -> XLR M & XLR F I/O

coffey sound or location sound

hint red: use a BNC on the epic and future cameras since there is a crap load of bnc's on every set

Actually my suggestion would be a thin timecode module, that has BNC (input and output), Lemo and an output for Digi Slates (instead of having to rig something up with T-connectors and adapters).
