I am just hoping for some advice on doing some work in Color on a project that was shot in 23.98 and edited at 1080P 23.98. (RED)

My goal is to be able to have an HD Master, but the deliverable is a Digi Beta tape which is obviously SD and 29.97. Which is easy to change the size once back in FCP, but what about the frame rate? Now that I would be changing that to 29.97, is it best to,
- change that in FCP before sending to color
- change that in color upon render
- change that in FCP after rendering 23.98 in Color

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jesse

Best point to add 3:2 pulldown in in your SDI card that's outputting to DigiBeta - a Kona or Decklink will do that on playout of a 23.98fps timeline. Keep things progressive in Color always as it really doesn't know how to handle interlace.

I do indeed have a Kona3, but no DigiBeta deck, so my plan was to send a file out to a transfer house for the tape dump.
So I would assume they wont have a problem taking my 23.98 QT file and making the tape from that then.

Yep any decent post house should be able to do this.
