Is the color transmition of "2/3 Cinema" much worse than the matrix of the Red One? What about dynamic range? Does the matrix of the Red One provides much more wide dynamic range?

And is there any test video made by Red Scarlet?

Actually RED has commented. The Scarlet is expected to be at least one stop higher in the dynamic range department. More like 1.3 stops. Announced last Fall.

EDIT: it must be pointed out, however, that these figures were estimates. No one outside of RED knows for sure.

RED have said that their new Mysterium-X sensor that is in the Scarlet 2/3", Scarlet S35, Epic-X, and Epic S35 looks better at ISO 800 than the RED ONE does at ISO 250. I see no reason that colour wouldn't be better too.

Also, what matrix are you talking about? The pixel array, or some kind of transformation matrix used for processing the sensor data?

I believe Nikita means to refer to the sensor when saying matrix.

According to Wikipedia, "A matrix is used to describe an array or grid" , so it seems like a translation by a non-native English speaker that seems technically correct, but just doesn't match common usage.

You're right, Stephen. In russian techical terminology there is no word "sensor", but there is word "matrix", you know :)
Thank you for the correct understanding.

So, as I've understood, Mysterium-X is the new technology and sensor of the Scarlet is rather smart. Nice.

Good answer, Thanks.

No, i mean, when we're talking about video/foto :)

Of course , there are a lot of "temperature sensors" or "light sensors" or "magic sensors" (This is HOOOOGGWWAARDDSSS!").

So, as I can see, 2/3 sensor is good enought to kill for it? :) Nice.

Good enough to kill for it? You Russians, when you go you go!

The 2/3" Cinema will have a newer generation Mysterium-X sensor that is supposed to have better dynamic range than the RED ONE's Mysterium sensor, but the 2/3" will also be a smaller sensor.

Which one will end up providing better dynamic range and other image quality? Well, considering that you will likely end up being able to buy five 2/3" Cinema Scarlets for less than the price of a single RED ONE, assuming $2,500 for the brain plus $750 from the example of the fixed lens "Complete Kit," it's a rather moot point for me.

The 2/3" Fixed Zoom brain is $500 more than the 2/3" Cinema brain. The 2/3" Fixed Zoom "Complete Kit" is $750 more than the brain only.

So, you can consider $500 for the lens, and $750 for the modules that make it a "Complete Kit" although it is possible that is a special price, and buying the same modules for the 2/3" Cinema will cost more.

Oh, and "Prices, Specifications and Delivery Dates are subject to drastic changes. Count on it and you won't be disappointed."
