  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Another (great) 7D clip

The lowlight sensitivity on this camera is crazy.

One poster put it "Could it be possible that we have the first ever camera that works better at night then it does day"

Its amazing that the line of red sensors are going to be pulling in ISO 800 with ease..

Wow. dog h.264 all you want but people are making this thing work. I'm surprised at the focus accuracy in these clips. Great wedding video camera. Unobtrusive and great in low light. Not to mention s35 DOF. No lighting in that last video. Wow. That really gets me thinking...

Wow, that looked incredible. RED better get that Scarlet out soon! :-)

Seriously, I know this wouldn't be the camera for a feature getting blown up to a big screen, but for web-based videos, which is SO much of how videos are being delivered these days...this looks incredible.

Gotta love those boom shots. It's what you do with it that counts

the image looks like interlaced video at the edges , in the hammer close up for example, and the skew while the hammer moves is clear. there's special situations for some tools, and tools for every situation. you choose. red chose me.

If you look at the original, it's been inexplicably recompressed to 1440 with anamorphic pixels. This is not native footage at all, which you could expect to look rather better. This camera's gonna do just fine, notwithstanding its limitations - a lot of features will be shot with this.

It could be blown up... Crank 2 used a xh-a1 and it looked fine. The cinematography was crap, but the resolution held up.

Yea, but I think it has a lot to do with the aesthetic you're pushing. Crank 2 was definitely pushing for the ultra-sharp video look on purpose, and I think it looked fantastic in that regard.

Amazing for being mostly a bunch of Consumer cam's from Best Buy.

why the name?
this should be known as reduser's canon forum
