  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Not sure if this has been asked before so excuse me if it has. Will any REDMOTE be able to control any upcoming Epics/Scarlets? If I purchased an EPIC and took my REDMOTE to another EPIC body would my REDMOTE communicate with that other body, for example?
 
...and is a Redmote capable to start two or more bodys at the same touch?.
 
Would any care to speculate on the full utility of the remote? What type of applications would the remote be very handy?
 
Not sure if this is already implemented but it would be nice to have a lock switch or button to keep you from accidentally hitting and activating any buttons. I could see a lot of DIT's and or first AC's wearing the redmote around there kneck and accidentally bumping it or hitting a button without knowing.

Yeah, what Mike said. I can see AC's buying their own REDMOTE - one on camera and one with them. Two should be able to run one camera or one REDMOTE should be able to trigger multiple cameras ideally. Good for 3D and multicam shoots.
 
You can master/slave up to 5 redmotes to one camera, you can see all metadata on the redmote but no streaming video.

I think we have most, and maybe all, of these suggestions covered in our design...

but to clarify it's intended to allow master/slave control of up to 5 cameras from 1 REDmote, not the other way around.

WIll REDMOTE give you a video signal on its LCD Screen from the camera to see what's happening in the take and also tag clips, ie good take, etc? I think I remember reading that it won't but since its doing everything else i thought its worth a shot.

Mmhh could have sworn Jarred said it the other way around, ah well my mistake...

The way Jarred described it to me was that there could be multiple REDmotes connected to one camera, with one 'master' that could control the camera, and others for eg script supervisor that would display meta-data to be logged.
