Hello, I am on a shoot and am loosing my SDI signal when the camera is only being pushed on the dolly (fisher 11). Once the camera isn't locked in on the dolly, the signal is perfect. Is a static electric current being shot through my camera from the dolly track? Any solutions for this problem? Feel free to call me (210.232.5414). On set all day (9.2.09). Thanx :coolgleamA:

Some weird ground loop issue? I had something similar with audio on a carmount (60hz Noise) and we fixed it by running a speaker cable from the RED to the main body of the vehicle. A ground loop isolator is the correct fix but in a pinch it worked. Many older cars don't have one built into the vehicle but a dolly has never had one as far as I know. You could try run a wire from the camera/dolly to ground.

Dolly ground issue

I've had the same problem - grounding each section of track and the dolly solved it.

I have had the problem before, it happens. It think it came from a tele-prompter issue.

I built an Edison power plug with a ground wire we screwed to the dolly and plugged it in to solve the problem. EVERYONE, USE COMMON SENCE HERE! GROUND THE DOLLY, DONT ELECTRIFY IT WITH A HOT OR NEUTRAL LINE! If you are unsure, have a good electrician do it.

Prost,
Rich

Thanx for all your help guys, didn't have time to resolve the problem on set but it seems that this is a rare yet reoccurring issue. Does the break out box help prevent this signal interruption?
