If I can't buy expensive Red Pro Prime for 19K...is there another way?

If S35 is the ultimate goal, I would buy the fixed 2/3" and build a good package around it first. Then add the S35 brain and lenses later. Keep the 2/3" for B-cam and high frame rate work.
I am budgeting around $8k for 2/3" cinema package including some decent used 16mm glass.

That's a very reasonable expectation because 2/3" lenses are MUCH cheaper to make.

Hi Pawel,

Ideally they need to have 2.5 the resolution of the S35 lenses & be 2 stops faster to produce comparable results. They could be cheaper but ultimate performance would suffer.
