Ok ... after 2 years of watching and waiting from the sidelines and reading and reading, I finally have my #serial. 6681.

Thanks to all those folks who have entertained and educated us, whinged, whined, complained argued and that half million view birger thread, which kept us hanging on for every next post for a good year !

I look forward to being able to shoot and share what everyone has been talking about, and experiencing what it is like to get great quality pictures.

How many others are also purchasing now ?

best.

Welcome aboard Andy.

I just listed some super affordable accessories if you still need to outfit your camera.

Wow, almost 7000 RED ONE's now. That's awesome!

mine should ship this week. it cost my current yearly wage, but it's worth it! can't wait. very exciting news with the 4.5k now and the upgarde next year.

Curiously enough Andy, I work a lot with a DP in the UK who owns Red One number 667 (I think) so roughly 10 percent the age of yours. How time flies! We've had a great year and more playing and shooting with it - RED has come of age now, so have fun...

Unless I hear back on a used kit tonight, I will stepping over the cliff in the morning!

Scott, Congrats! Seems like they are selling A LOT! Someone else mentioned they are getting a much lower 6000 range SN delivered this week. So must be a lot of them heading out the door.

it's hard to know exactly how many they are selling. Items seem to be going on backorder randomly so i suggest buying sooner rather then later.

I am ordering the Red 1st thing in the morning. Still working out what else I need from Red (well, definitely a Red Drive) but the camera will be ordered so I can (hopefully) get it in my hand by the 10th. Red indicated it can be as few as 5 days. I believe someone else here got theirs recently in 5 days from payment.

I bought the remainder of the Red kit that Tim was offering, so i have a good start to the support side of it.

I took the plunge completely (as in taking over my life as I knew it) a little while longer than 2 years ago. And even though we all know the impacts of a true revolution are never completely realized until they are fermented in time, it is great to see another person that realizes it in the present. Isn't this an f'ing blast?

Let me know how I might be able to support your journey.

Congrats Andy, you are doing the right thing and your life will change forever.

Also, you are now intimately involved with the most amazing company in history!

Red just paid for my camera in Sydney Australia to be shipped to them, so they can install free upgrades that they hadn't promised or even suggested when I bought the camera as is, just so they can pay to get my camera back to Sydney. This is after 4 firmware and countless software updates, again all free.

Welcome to the revolution!

Cheers,

Jim Hare

Coming up on a year with my RED and I'm still an irrational fanboy. It inspires you to pick it up and work on your craft 24/7.

Welcome to the club.

Welcome to the rollercoaster Andy - hang on tight!
