I'm looking for a pair of LCD monitors that will give a reasonable representation of the image for editing and basic QCing. Maybe I'll even be able to colour correct a little, but that's not the main object. I'm upgrading from a pair of Acers which turn bright highlights into neon colours, so I just want something that doesn't do that. Resolution should be 1920x1200, no more than $1000 for a pair (if possible).

I searched previous posts, but the answer to this question changes all the time so I thought I'd ask for now.

thanks

One 24" Apple monitor if you have apple and whatever else you can get for the second. Slightly older ones might be cheaper on Ebay and they might be a bit better (don't quote me on that, ask around).

Or you'll have to do some research to see if there is anything decent for pc and you could always spend most of it on one of then while getting something cheap with the same resolution and size as the main one.

Here is a search of all 24" 1920 x 1200 sorted by lowest price for your secondary monitor at the egg.

FYI i ended up with a pair of refurbished NEC 2190UXi monitors. They're 4:3 aspect ratio, which is good for having lots of tracks if it's that kind of edit, and the colour and brightness rendition is superb from all angles. Strongly recommend them.

Cheapest whatever but LED backlighted if possible.
