OK, so trying to find a used Red setup, and have PM's into the 2 that are selling here.

But if they fall through, i am (probably) going to order a new one (questions about that elsewhere).

SO, it seems like the Red Power Pack might be on back order. If so, what else (used would be nice on the budget) would the experienced among you (and just opinionated as well:) ) recommend?

AB, or..... And what model battery/charger in detail if you don't mind?

Thank you for the assist. I did a search and see AB and some Chinese options, but nothing that more or less says "Buy This Setup".

Thanks for the assist,

Scott

Abel sells Anton Bauer battery kits for the RED that include an AB mount to go with the camera. We also have block battery kits from Anton Bauer and House of Power that include the appropriate cable to go to the camera. And most popular is our options from Switronix. Switronix makes batteries, battery mounts and chargers that all interact properly with the RED One so that correct battery status info appears in the viewfinder. Switronix and Anton Bauer each make a brick which is within the legal limit to ship as airline luggage (House of Power blocks and belts are also allowed). And each make dual battery hotswap mounts so that one can have up to 190w of power from their bricks and never have to power down the camera. House of Power also makes a hotswap between block batteries and/or AC power supply.

Everyone is always welcome to consult with me or one of our Sales Reps. about the various options and which may be best for your needs. Or you can peruse our online RED Store on our website. Here's the link for some of the various power options:

I love Anton Bauer products!!!!! and I own a bunch. I also love Mitch and Able. So I hate to bring this up, but, keep in mind, using "non-red" power will void your warranty if there is any kind of power board issue....! I learned this the hard way :( I voice this up so maybe Red changes their mind about the rest of the industry's camera power.

Prost,
Rich

Purchase the Red or Swisstronix
2-4 bricks/ charger. This covers any
hand held. We have abandoned the
bricks almost entirely. We had traditional
block batteries made from Victory
with the RED LEMO connector
built in, very sexy and easily identifiable.
If I had the money we would have bought
the Newer VCLX 1 or 2 ,non-the less
If you shoot more traditional dramatic
style you can buy 3 blocks
( no charger rewquired) or 4/ brick and a charger
for about the same price. We also
bought the cable from monstercine
which uses any 4 pin cannon style
battery . Many 28v batteries can be run
out of one side or the other.
Think about your needs but two bricks
and a block or two for Dolly/ tripod work.
You can re-cell the blocks much easier
and they are not considered dangerous
goods. Many guys who come from a film
backround like the blocks . We loose the cradle
, put on one of the drives with a speedy clamp
or action Products shock mount and viola
you can actually see /access rear
of camera much easier. Just makes the
camera feel more like a 235.
