I realize this is a ways off.

But we are toying between the nikon and the birger mount....no significant stockpiles of either Nikon or Canon glass.

Being that we are fully intent on upgrading to epic I am wondering....
would the investment in a Birger mount be a temorary one...or will this also work for the epic.
Same question goes for the Nikon mount.

I realize there are plans with epic to have a multi lens mount system...so I am uncertain if the old adapters will still work.

Thanks

Not that I would know, but with the form-factor changing radically, my most optimistic guess would be: "highly unlikely".

That said, I had a Nikon mount but went over to the (dumb) Birger mount, as the Canon mount gives you more flexibility. And it is built like a tank.

Yeah I'd guess no as well- also wouldn't there be a coverage issue with EPIC's 5K imager on a lot of current Nikon and Canon glass, at least the newer digital lenses?

I would love to use my Nikon G lenses on a scarlet/epic with a AF/Aperture controlled Birger Mount.

Is this a possibility in the not too distant future?

At a guess the front(active) part of the Birger mount will carry over, while the rear collimation ring will need to be replaced with a plate (with the appropriate fasteners) to mount to the new camera bodies.

The limiting factor will be whether the sliding sensor block will allow for the proper Canon FFD with the new setup.

Erik.. I fucken love you man.

i appreciate that ure making a birger for epic upgrade.
