  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I have just released a new version of Clipfinder, which supports the new ProRes codecs.

As usual, the release is available from my website.
More detailed change notes can be found in the "What's new in Clipfinder 2.2" section in the integrated help pages (CMD-?).

I have not forgotten that I have promised better metadata support for Avid ALEs. This will follow shortly.

Hi Hans, thanks for the update. I'm getting an error though when I try to open saved project files from the stable release. (I've attached a picture)

Hey Hans,

We've been using beta 6k to handle RSX-affected render batches for a project, and today I went to re-render a couple of files.

I neglected to hit the 'skip existing files' button and it proceeded to instantly delete lots of my rendered clips! Not even in the Trash!

No big deal, managed to re-render everything by the deadline, but have you come across that before?
 
Cheers to your continued dedication on Clipfinder! Clipfinder is the No.1 app that I'd like to see supporting the RED Rocket™. That will make an amazing combo for sure.

That's weird !
Clipfinder will overwrite the clips it is re-rendering, but should not delete any other clips. I'll try to reproduce this.
Anyway, I've decided that it's probably a good idea to present a warning dialog if clips are about to be overwritten. I'll put that near the top of my list of things to do.

I am looking at the help pages but the only one that is working (for me) is the "What's new in Clipfinder 2.2" pages.

Hi Ketch. I'm just getting into Clipfinder and it certainly seems to be worth $ instead of being a freebie! But I don't use Paypal.

Hans is there any other way to send $ to you?

OK, I DL'd Clipfinder 2.1.16 and found the online help in there. I'll read up on Clipfinder and look at the latest beta version next.

Thanks for the kind words.
I'm planning a commercial version (with more features).
I cannot quite say when I will be ready, but I will post updates as I progress.
As I will then have to come up with a payment process, you could help me a lot by posting which methods of payment would be acceptable / preferred if you don't want to use PayPal (which I was planning to use as my primary payment method).

I'm more than happy to distribute Clipfinder in Japan by purchasing packaged version or licenses from you.
