I have a RedRockMicro matte box with 2 filter stages presently and I want to order some filters (4 x 5.6). I want to get a polarizing filter but am not quite sure which options exist and which would be the best options. I don't mean brands of filters, but rather types of filters.

I could add another stage and now RedRockMicro makes a 5.6 x 5.6 holder so I could get a square pola filter, but I also know that many like to use round polas, so I'd like to know whether there are options available for a round pola on the RedRockMicro matte boxes.

I would like to use these filters with my Red Pro Primes as well as Nikon lenses if possible.

Many thanks for your input.

Jean

We just added a 5.6 x 5.6 stage and got a square pola to go with it. It is working well for us.

Or you can add the rear bellows
stage from an arri MB20 mattebox.
It will allow you to use a 138mm r
pola. Abel and or Filmtools will have
them on there on-line store. A little
pricier than the 5.65x5.65 option
but if you own the pola already then
you get a very proffessional solution.

You can also get a Polaframe. You can get a 4x5.65 frame with a geared rotating circular polarizer. Very fast to change the angle of the polarizer if you need to.

Works great for me with my clip on mattebox with no rotating stages.

Abel sells these as well, and I believe we can give more than competitive pricing. We can also sell you the Arri pieces for the rear of your mattebox.

Mitch in your opinion 1)replacement arri
bellows or 2) rotating pola tray, which would
be better in your opinion. I think the prices
are relatively similar? Do I gain a 4th stage
with the rear 138 filter or do I loose one of
the RR stages to put on the MB20
rear bellows.
Thanks
