I was wondering if anyone had some insight into shooting ENG lenses with RED? Looking at shooting a Mockumentary on RED so I'm looking for insight into camera tech, workflow, camera mounts, and rental places that can support that kind of rig?

Thanks,

There's a forum here on RED User called "EFP/ENG for RED". In it you'll find multiple threads with the info you seek. Use the Search tool on that forum to find specific subject areas.

In short, yes you can use B4 2/3" EFP/ENG HD zooms on RED One. In doing so, you will be limited to 2k resolution, and either the RED B4 adaptor or Abacus B4 adaptor must be used between the lens and the PL mount on RED.

The servo motor on a B4 2/3" EFP/ENG HD zoom can be powered by a cable RED sells that connects to the Auxiliary/12v bus on the smart side of the camera.

RED can be set up in the form factor of an EFP/ENG camera, with EVF, B4 lens, RED drive side-mounted with an ET Shock Mount, battery top/back mounted, and a shoulder mount like the ET Mantis. With the Mantis you can change from shoulder to tripod quickly.

Check the EFP/ENG for RED forum for photos of EFP setups of RED One.
