  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Send to Color - Clips are nothing but frozen frames

Checking "use old color science" in Clipfinder's preferences and then re-generating the proxies should have the same effect as re-generating them in a pre-build-20 version of REDAlert or REDrushes.

I was recently alerted to a relatively obscure problem in Clipfinder, where the out point saved in the RSX file was incorrect after editing look settings or using Lift & Stamp in Clipfinder. You could verify this by opening a clip in REDAlert and checking the out point against the clip duration. If you find anything suspicious, please let me know.

Cheers,
Hans

Hey Hans, thanks for the suggestion,

I tried the said steps and it didn't really work. I think it has to do with the "Use Edge Code" setting in RedAlert and maybe proxies generated by Clipfinder don't use that setting at all.

It's not really that big an issue, I just think that since lots of people were shooting sub-build-20 and if they encounter that error in Color, they have a way to fix this.

Maybe you could include the "Edge Code" setting as a checkbox in Clipfinder?

Thanks so much for your application btw!

That certainly looks like edge code is being used for the in point and timecode is being used for the out point, which would cause confusion.
