I know these new features doesn't apply to RED One but i hope EPIC supports it.. :arf:

...integrated Ethernet channel...

...dual-stream 1080p 3D...

...HDMI 1.4 provides support for..840 x 2160 pixels at 24Hz, 25Hz and 30Hz; and 4096 x 2160 pixels at 24Hz.....

HDMI 1.4

What does it mean, "4096 x 2160 pixels at 24Hz?" Does that imply HDMI 1.4 can only transmit 4K video captured at 24fps?

Yes, so its essentially crippled from the get go....

I've heard of fully interlaced projection with lots of camera motion gives motion sickness so they are limiting cinema style on 4k projection or viewing on larger panel? That is what I assume.

The limitations on 4K are mostly a bandwidth issue. There's really no support for interlacing above 1080i and no need for it. I think the HDMI 1.4 spec is to keep in step with what DisplayPort is doing. While the promise of eventual 4K in a consumer / prosumer system is exciting, I would like to see wide-gamut 2K/1080p at high frame rates first. With all the 3D content being produced these days, this seems to be the next logical step. 2K/1080p displays that can operate at 120Hz with shutter glasses and small-venue 2K/1080p DLP projectors with 144Hz cycle rates for polarized optics. Bring it on.
