Hi!
I'm prepping a short I cut for turnover to our sound editor. He requested an EDL with the sound TC, so he can rebuild the audio based on the original production sound recordings.
The sound was recorded separately, brought into Avid and synced with the footage. I checked the sound dailies bin in Avid and the actual clip name for each track is recorded in the "TapeID" column (unfortunately they do not always match up the slate number for each shot) . The "Tape" column shows the the correct numbers (1 to 8).
Now is there a way to include the TapeID in the EDL as a comment? Without the clip names, the sound editor has to go through a bunch of wavs in each "tape folder" to figure out which clip is the right one.
Any other comments or suggestions on how to create a proper EDL for sound turnover would be much appreciated.
Carsten
