Hi guys,

Looking to get a Photo Realistic 3D rendering Software Program with not to harsh of a Learning Curve, very familiar with Adobe as I work with CS4, LR2, Flash and AE.

I know that Jim has been using something which seems to me pretty amazing in the detail in which his renderings come out, what does He uses?

Wanted to do some Photo Realistic 3D creations fro integration with pictures of my Models, and want them to be as realistically looking as possible.

Thanks.

ciao

I believe Jim is using HyperShot, which is relatively new on the market, but looks real good for static renders, rotations, etc..

Another good one to look at is Modo, especially if you intend to create models and objects yourself to render.

To avoid steep learning curves, I'd stay away from Maya (or anything from Autodesk).

It also depends on what kind of models you want to create and your artistic abilities.

Cinema 4D tends to be well regarded for not being difficult to learn, and is quite good for generic 3D modeling. I use "generic" for any 3D modeling app like Maya, Softimage, etc. -- i.e. the big guys

ZBrush is awesome and is mainly used by artists making models like people, creatures, etc. but can certainly be used for non-organic projects.

Another one I've been looking at recently is Modo, which has a similar interface to ZBrush. From the sample videos, it looks impressive, and their licensing scheme is interesting.

Check those out and see if that seems to work for you.

Thanks guys for the very fast responses,

I bookmarked the apps and will give each a reading/look.

At first glance it seems that Modo will better fit my needs and so does hyperShot.

Mostly I'll be creating objects to photoshop in to the pictures with my models, creating surreal worlds painted in oil canvas via Painter Eleven.

I also want to experiment on creating my 3D logo out of the current one, after eliminating as much as text possible, basically just creating a logo and name to be easy to read in every size.

Thanks,

in fact I just tucked out hyperShot from the list, as it is not a complete app, meaning that I will still have to buy/learn an other app to do my drawings and 3D rendering, to import in to hypershot for final coloring and texture, too bad as it really seemed a kick aSS app, but I will not spend over 3K and still having to spend an other 1K plus on a 3D modeling app.

So for now Modo 401, has my vote, unfortunately it is not yet available for trial so waiting from the rep to update me asap as it becomes available to give it a spin before dumping 1K on it.

I'm also waiting for the demo for Modo to be out. I am quite impressed with the sample videos. It doesn't seem at all like it's just another 3D app that basically does the same thing as all others. It's one of those things that made me go "Yeah! Finally!"...now I don't know if it deserves that since I've never tried it, but it sure feels right.

Anyone interested in 3D should really it check out.

Wow modo looks really quick. I must try it when it's available

After talking directly to Luxology's reps's, I have to say that I'm truly thankful for the recommendation Jeff, and so Denis, Modo 401 is an all in one 3D drawing rendering animating app, that I'm looking forward to it, in starting some serious implementation to my work.

ciao
