  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC Power Module

Just what I wanted... wigs wigs wigs.

That one got lost in translation for me too. But I'll assume it's along the lines of Don't try to teach your Grandma to suck eggs.

FWIW it was a genuine inquiry based on the power module dock design, the current Red One unregulated 12V supply without the grunt to run some accessories, necessitating the use of the battery tap.

I would like to see some power come from the side grip. So when using the Epic or Scarlet in a digital stills mode or in a super lightweight setup you can have power. I just like how light the 5D2 is and if Red can get some power through the grip that would ne cool.

Far as I can remember, the originial plan for the side grip was to have power and, maybe, a card slot. The idea being that the whole system could, in fact, be only slightly larger than a DSLR but still be able to shoot full on video mode.
Peace,

According to the brochure, it does.

The grip works as a battery so therefore if you got both the power module and the grip you would in theory have obviously quiet a substanial bit more battery life, because of the nature of it, you could probaby put on more then one power module...

As for the odd response about wigs...bet you theres a high chance thats a yes or a 'yes in the future' :P only speculation though till we see all this in practice...
