I do not use FCP (and do not intend to) ... I'm just editing the R3D clips directly/natively in Color.

I can set in and out points for preview playback etc ... but can I have these (or others set as required somewhere) in-out points also applied to the rendered output ? ... ie: do not need the whole clip rendered out ... :emote_headwall:

Any advice to this very new Color user appreciated ;-)

Cheers ...

Thats funny, but true.

Hmmm ...

Hmmm ...

Full editing program = sledge hammer to crack a nut or what :smash:

Pretty shocking that RedAlert does it and Color can't ... why use n-tools when one should do the simplest of tasks !
The output QT quality from Color is sooooooo good I'm starting to really like the tool. RA was my previous 'standard' as nothing comes close to it's output quality ... until I tried Color ;-)
Hmmm, looks like once the AE plug-in get's updated it will be the THE standard ...

As for the comment [my advise is to use an editing application to do your editing] ... I do not call working on a single clip 'editing' ;-) ... i've no intention of putting together a story or movie or ...

You can do basic editing in the Color timeline. Use ctrl-v to split a clip at the cursor, and delete the bit you don't want. Also the roll, ripple, slip etc tools under the "timeline" menu let you do editing in the Color timeline. Works fine, just not as easy as an editing programme, as that's not what Color is meant to be.

Cheers Nick ... should have checked the documentation in more detail ;-)
