  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RELEASED: Beta Build 20 Firmware (v20.1.2)

Today something weird happened to us, we recorded a clip using redspace, everything is set to redspace, then when playing it back it switches to something else, something less saturated (maybe rec?) and when I get back to the live view, I am being changed to this color space. If I press the "View Raw" button twice, I get back the REDSpace view. Is this supposed to happen?

It only happens if the playback setting is set to "clip" instead of "camera"

thanks.

Look differences

Look differences

Two red ones both updated to the latest beta build v20.1.2, properly color balanced, matched settings, etc. yet displaying marked differences in the monitors colors in redspace. To make it more confusing there was an accompanying difference in the rgb hist with a noticeable increase in exposure in the red channel that matched the monitors warmer tinge. Both in raw and rec709 colors and hist matched nicely. Most importantly the raw files matched nicely if defaults were restored via RA and confirmed after looking at the files on a scratch system. All of the obvious (at least to me) problem solving methods were tried ie. reinstall build, black shading, switching lenses and monitors, restoring defaults, etc.

Is it possible that you had an offset in the LOOK setup ? e.g R Gain in one of those two cameras was off ?

Yup, that's a known bug, and is listed as such in the read me file...

Identified issues, so far:

1. This is a big one for us: no image via HDMI while replaying the any recorded clip;
2. Received three, as opposed to a million (but still present), audio errors during replaying a clip;
3. Is this new or what? I barely use CF so it is the first time for me, but I had an error (slow media) if try to use the 4K, 16:9, RedCode36 combination on a 8GB RedCard.

After some sleep, more will come to my foggy mind...

Don't know about 1. or 2. but 3. is simply a case of the 8GB cards not being fast enough to support RedCode36 at the top settings. The 16GB cards (and I'm guessing 32GB cards once they arrive) don't have that limitation.

Had 2 issues so far with 20.1.2 -

1. LCD 7" pro went blank and had to reboot to bring it back.
2. One R3D file was green. Looked normal when recording but was completely green when played back.

Audio missing in Build 20

Audio missing in Build 20

Last night I decided to do a before/after comparison of Build 17 and 20 for low-light.

When I dragged the clips into Premiere CS4, I noticed that the clips from Build 20 did not have any audio.

This is 20.1.3

What is happening?

Without any other evidence, I would assume that audio wasn't enabled when the recording was made.

Stuart,

Before I installed B20, even using only one sound input source (boom) through the channel 1, when the clip was transferred to a NLE, a two audio tracks were there. Now, I only get one. Is there any new setting that needs to be turned "on" so two channels are automatically produced as they were before?:lurk5:
