hi Guys, i have a problem, sometimes appear 2 o 3 R3D files in the same folder (one shot), this affects postproduction process, becouse I edit in FCP with the proxies (M), and send to color, but when the color import the xml file, some files are not correctly linked , and the only property in common is 2 or 3 R3D files.

I don't know if, Can Ierase the extra R3D files?

thanks for your help!

Don't erase those "extra" R3D files...they are all connected to make one continuous clip. There are multiple files created because of the file system used (FAT32?), where no single file can be larger than 2GB. If you look closer at the files, all will be 2GB in size until you reach the last one, which will be something smaller. You should double check your workflow...read up on the FCS white paper...I can't imagine that everyone else using final cut is having this problem.

Thanks. one more cuestion, the problem is file system (fat32)??

how can I fix this?
I do not like it generates 2 or 3 r3d files?

Fat32 is the only widely adopted filesystem that can be read on both windows and mac.

Simply put, you cannot change the fact that the camera generates multiple files per one clip. Thats not going to change anytime soon, and you need to get accustomed to it.

Cail Young so much thanks much much much much thanks. the problem is solved. Thanks Thakns. so much Thanks!

I would be thanking Hans-Georg Daun and Nick Shaw for finding the fix and implementing the little tool. I just gave you a link.
