  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Demo Reel

You have something interesting going on.
The music you chose allows you to cut sooner or kinda wants you to cut sooner than just hold on shots.
And having a good colorist go over your work and grade it will give you an imporved look.

If you cant find a colorist to get down right into it for you, I can give you a hand.

these are just opinions.

entertaining
good luck

You're right; these images are not graded yet.

The music is a temp track because I haven't yet decided what song I want to use based on my available footage. I'm also missing footage from three important projects that I'd like to include.

I like it. Even ungraded you have captured a very filmic image, where a lot of what I see on the forum still has a video sensibility to it.

I agree with Jim, you could end up grading it to look very videoish, but it looks great as is. I'd hire you (if I had the money)

Interesting how we all watch the same clip with very different reactions. I agree some parts felt a bit videoish, but on the whole I felt there was a lovely depth (not depth of field, just 3 dimensional image) to it.

honestly.. this felt very videoish to me for some reason..
it was shot on RED?
what was your shutter?

Thank you for your honest opinions; they can only help me grow. Now I need to get more camera movement in my reel...

Keep in mind this was compressed for the web; the shot of the old woman and the asian woman were shot with Panasonic cameras. Everything else was 180 or 112 for the shutter.

I can only assume a decent grade would help make this footage pop. I've learned a lot since shooting even these pictures.
