  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"Thread" film test for indie film project

Tom Lowe showed this to me, had it on his Mac, was the cinematographer on my latest film... its a very interesting piece, even if a test... I personally loved it

EDIT: just watched it again, and i see its been edited into a story... I saw mostly graded raw footage.

Curran, nice stuff! Liked the grade too. I believe this is the same project Chris and I had been discussing a while back. Did you guys shoot more? Originally there were going to be some additional scenes.

Are you on one of the new Mac Pros? Are the native QTs playing smooth? I have super fast RAID but my Mac Pro I think is the limiting factor for being unable to play native QT without dropping frames. It's a 2.8 Quad Core with 16GB RAM.

Wow - that looked stunning. How did you light the car interior?

All natural lighting. Although we did use a bounce card for a couple shots. Gotta make do with whatever you can when you don't have any money.

Yup. Tom is an excellent cinematographer.

Chris has a bunch of different scripts in various stages of completion. But there was no script for this one. These scenes were all from the second weekend that we shot.

Chris did all the editing / grading on his older Mac Pro. Definitely not one of the new ones. And no, the QTs did not play very smooth.
