  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Pro-res 444 & Red Alert

Red Alert give you no choice yet for ProRes 4444 yet.

Hopefully soon.

RED Alert, REDCINE, REDRUSHES, etc.. For some reason restrict the codecs to which they will export.

Seems like the RED apps would use the default QT library so that when you export you could use the entire export functions, but no go. DRAT!

It works in all other apps that use the QT codec library, and now it's actually possible to play 2K files in realtime, and render out 2K comps in AE and nuke full res. WHat a great day!

That is what I thought in the beginning, but it only provides what RED prepared to list.

Dang, that sucks : (

Hopefully we'll see an update soon.

I'm pretty sure.

RocketCine-X doesn't list ProRes 4444 yet as an export option, either, but I am betting that will change as soon as it is possible...

My version of RocketCine-X has it and exports ProRes4444 just fine. At least in my test it did.

You have to create it manually of course, but it works fine.

Shhh Jim.... don't let everyone know that Australia leads the software testing for Red !!

X series is next generation so, we will see the support in REDCINE-X I guess.
