名称には3とついていませんが、FCS3でました。

メタデータの対応がよくなっているかまだ不明ですね。Colorの4K対応はうれしいです。

Hehehe Peter! Basically Kaku is announcing the release of FCP3 and the fact it supports 4K in Color.

But I don't see anywhere in the official literature about a 4K timeline, or native reading of R3D files, in Final Cut itself. Still mentions Log & Transfer....

Personally I'm an Adobe fan and best of all, that software is platform agnostic so you can run it on Macs or PCs. Full 4K online workflow, today. No intermediate codecs like ProRes needed, just solid playback of any format directly on the timeline. What's not to like?!

RED is ProRes or Native-wrapped within FCP, but you can grade directly from the R3D files within Color and finish to 4K ProRes or DPX.

My concern would be how they improved, if any, the way to handle the metadata.
If it does take the new color science, that is a plus, then if Color 1.5 had adopted the OLPF compensation, that is another. We had issues about complex timeline sent from FCP to Color, but Apple claims that it is improved between FCP7 and Color 1.5.

I only see improvements but I'm not sure if it is something as we hoped. As for RED centered environment, CS4 did do the whole rebuild from ground up, so it is totally native with R3D, but it does lack the matured hardware support to be able to monitor with reference display which FCS is good at (besides the confusing gamma handling).
Also when we most likely to receive the loaner of Euphonix MC Color, that will make the Color 1.5 working environment so much better.

I use many music application software packages depending on what I'm doing, so to me, there no win or loose, I'd use Premiere Pro if I wanted to do something to edit along with AfterEffects, then if it is critical job with client that I need to show the results on the master monitor, then I'd use FCP/Color. But when RED Rocket starts working with CS4, then I might shift more towards CS4 since CS4 handles metadata better.

Graeme, many projects that we work on, the deliverable is HD. So I take advantage of your baby, half-high debayer. Would that be available in Color or Premiere Pro in the near future?

話は外れますが、ここのフォーラム（特にレッドロケット、RED Rocket™）がすごい事になっていますね。みんな夏休みでゆっくりしているところに、この騒ぎに巻き込まれて、引きづり回されてしまいましたね。
遊んでる暇なんか無くなったレッド人が一杯いるみたいです。
常連で書き込みしてない連中は仕事やっていますね。
それにしてもアメリカでのレッドワンの人気は異常です。
今回のファイナルカットでもニューヨークの入荷は来週になってしまって私のは早くて水曜日になっています。

自分のブログでも盆と正月の節でフォーラムの状態を表現してみました。ファイナルスタジオは結局内部ではファイナルカットスタジオ3と読んでいるようですが、自分のは今日届くようです。日本の方が早いとは。

Color 1.5で不安定と言っているユーザも居るみたいなので、新しいボリュームに新しいシステムをインストールして、そこにFCS3をインストールして試そうと思っています。

Color 1.5ですが、R3DからQTへの現像の際ガンマの取り扱いを整理したようです。

ちなみにFCS2にインストールするとすべてFCS3に置き換えてしまうので、注意が必要です。自分はいつもの起動ドライブをカーボンコピーしてインストールしてみました。

Color 1.5はニューカラーサイエンスか？という議題がでていますが、旧カラーサイエンスの様です。ColorのRED Plug-inが2.9になる必要があるそうです。

パッケージングが小さくなったのは驚きですね。最近のアップルのパッケージングはだんだん小さくなってきているので助かります。

FCP３スタジオの発表を読んでワクワクしてたんですが、やっぱり新しいアップグレードということもあるので少し待ってみる事にします。

ちなみに、Color1.5では４Kで色合いの修正ができるそうですね。それでもちゃんとFCへ送り返す事はできますか？２Kで編集しているとしたらどうなるんでしょう？４Kで修正するだけ無駄ですか？

長生さん、西海岸は届いたという販売店の話もでていましたので、東海岸はどうしたのでしょうね。お気持ちご察し申し上げます。

なおきさん、FCS3をインストールするとFCS2を書き換えてしまいますので、試すのならドライブをもう一台用意してという形にしないと心配かもしれませんね。うちではMatrox MXO2、Matrox MXO、Blackmagicdesign Multibridge Pro、metaSAN、ArecaのRAID HBA、プラグイン各種が入っている環境でアップデイトしてみましたが、ちょっとColor 1.5のレンダリング品質設定で変なところがあるくらいで、FCP to Colorの送信等は大丈夫なのと、Colorにおけるビデオディスプレイが元素材によってまちまちということがなくなったようなので、それはこちらの方がよかったと感じています。

Colorのレンダリング品質設定のバグですが、どうやら選択がうまく働いてないようで、フル解像度固定になっているのではないか？という話です。マイナーアップデイトはすぐ出るでしょうね。

HDフォーマットの行き来は大丈夫でしたよ。

Color 1.5とR3Dですが、話によるとColor 1.5はRED FCS Installerがアップデイトされないといけないという噂もあり、現時点では仕事の運用は無理の様です。

新RED FCS Installerはすぐリリースという話も出ています。
