  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Well how about that?

Looks like it might be the real deal.

It is a shame this isn't a 170 Hydra to deal with the noise which I am sure will still be there.
Also don't forget that the HVX will give you about 960 lines worth of detail so 2.2k is a big stretch in terms of detail.

Are they out of business? The site is dead. http://www.reel-stream.com/

They hydra mod works, but is no longer supported or under further development. Anyone considering buying this should also make sure they will get all the software and the cable that goes with it.

It's an interesting solution, a good way to get RAW right out of the HVX, but you'll be tethered to a recording computer. IMO, I'd save my pennies for a 2/3" Scarlet instead.

Has anyone seen this camera demonstrated working? The seller states he doesn't have the cable, so apparently he hasn't tested it.

So are they working on the 170 version, since their work might carry over without much effort? Hope so anyway cause that would make a lot of people looking for 1/3" DoF happy once a portable recording solution is also developed or found.

Reel Stream was bought out, Juan Pertierra now works for Cine-tal Systems.
