EasyRig Cinema 3 Group Buy - Details

EasyRig - Shock Mechanism

EasyRig - Shock Mechanism

Could you answer the question regarding purchasing an additional pulley system for configuring the rig for different cameras? Is this possible and what is the cost? Thanks in advance.

There are two options:

Option 1: Shock Mechanism Only. Retails at approximately US$200.

Option 2: Complete Support Bar. Retails at approximately US$1700.

Option 1 is the most cost effective solution; however, it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to change the internal shock mechanism.

Option 2 is the best option if you need a quick change; however, it is much more expensive than the shock mechanism.

It seems that if your camera configuration weighs 40lbs, you actually want a rig that carries 30lbs or so of the weight so that there is still solid contact between the camera and your shoulder. Any opinions on this?

For a 40 lb. camera set-up, we recommend the EasyRig 700 (For cameras weighing between 33 - 44 lb).

You want to be in the middle range.

I've just purchased the Easyrig 700. If you're thinking about getting an Easyrig, now's the time to do it. This group buy is about to end and it's a great deal on a truly back saving and very clever device. This thing rocks. BTW I'm not affiliated with Easyrig or 16X9 in any way.

Michael,
I love my EasyRig. Do you do repair work on them? The pulley system is getting a little sticky.

We shot a short suspense/horror for the Seattle 48 hour on Red. Every shot was hand held using the EasyRig. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo9YGSvqx_0

I don't know how I could have done this shot without an EasyRig. Running through the grass with a Red at waist level.

Thanks, Barry

Hi Barry,

Yes. We are a full service center, as well as a warranty repair center for all our product lines. You can send the unit it in for a no-cost evaluation; in your case, it would be sending just the support bar.

I watched it without reading you were from Seattle and then this place looked super familiar to me. I realized I shot there about 3-4 years ago on a horror teaser I did! Was this in Bellingham? I came down from Vancouver to do it.

EasyRig Offer - Extended

EasyRig Offer - Extended

Any chance of an extension? I hate discovering deals on things I was considering for purchase only hours after the deal ends...

We have received a few requests asking us to extend the offer; as such, we have extended the offer until July 24th.

As of this morning, we have (10) orders. The target is (15) to trigger a $150 credit/refund to the previous users.

Please note, this is the only extension we can offer.

I'm still a bit confused about the EasyRig. I know it's not a replacement for a steadycam, but have heard reports of users saying it restricts range of motion when doing handheld, but then see Barry using it with pretty fluid motion.

Can someone tell me exactly what it's designed to do? I get that it distributes the weight, making hand held easier, but what kind of movement/shots can I expect to get, and what shots will I need to actually take it off to achieve i.e. crouching or sharp angle?

Not sure what you mean by "take it off to achieve crouching or sharp angle". The support bungee is fairly long and can be pulled out as far as the ground when you are on your knees. So a very low angle is possible. You can move the attachment clip for and aft on the handle to accommodate high angles or low angles. It is also really easy to shoot/carry the Red at waist level with the EasyRig. I shot an entire feature with the Red/EasyRig hand holding every shot. I didn't find any restriction of movement.

It is definitely not a steadicam, but it works great for hand held. It gets the weight off you spine and onto your hips.

Thanks Barry. I read in some other posts that users found it difficult to bend at the waist or bend their legs.

Just trying to understand the full range of motion available.

Cheers,

Jim

Is the offer still available? I need to weigh my Red.....but also have the HDX900 and just ordered the 3700 Varicam. I would naturally like to use this rig with all of my cameras. What would you recommend? Adding weight to the HDX and Varicam???

Yes. The EasyRig offer is still available until next week, July 24th.

We highly recommend you weigh each camera set-up before choosing an EasyRig model.

If you have multiple cameras with different weight loads, following are few options:
1) Purchase an additional Support Bar per additional camera set-up.
2) Purchase a Shock Absorber. Takes approx. 20 - 30 minutes to replace.
3) Purchase heavier load EasyRig & Add weight to lesser weight camera set-up.

I just got back in town and I'm planning on weighing my Red and placing my order today, so chalk one more up as sold.

Any word on how many you've sold through the group buy, thus far? In other words, have you hit the magic number 14 yet?

Cheers!

As of today, the # is 12.

The probability of hitting # 15 is very likely (based on a few recent emails). I will keep you posted when it does hit the magic number.

Also, please note the Group Buy Extension will end this Friday, the 24th of July. We will not be able to extend the offer after this date.
