Well, definitely not, but please have a look and give me some feedback. Bear in mind that i was not the colorist on all of it (only most of it) nor did I DP all of it (only most of it) and so some of the highlights have definitely been blown on purpose and I am aware. Please check it out here on vimeo:

Thanks for watching!

Justin, there's a ton of great footage in that reel, but there's also probably just as much pretty good footage in there. Any non-directing reel that runs over 2 minutes I think usually begins to drag, and at 3 1/2 your definitely felt long. I'd really suggest being more selective and getting that reel trim and lean! Only leave your show stopper material in there!

Congrats!

Great advice. Thanks for the views. I kind of went along with the song. If it were 2 mins it would be a lot tighter I'm sure. It's tough to get rid of your kids though. I'm sure every 'artist' feels that way.

absolutely. I remember putting together a reel a few years ago and cut my 3 minute version down to 1 1/2. I knew it was for the best, but I kept that 3 minute version on my computer anyway just because I loved seeing all those other clips I loved but had to slim it down to only the best of the best :)

Justin, nice work. I also want to say the same thing as Brandon. The reel is a bit long-winded.

Great Reel! Thanks for the help with your Red on Stricken! -Matt Sconce

RED 18-50 is slim majority of it. There are also Canon on Birger shots, lots of Super Speed and Standard Speed footage and a Canon 14mm PL and Nikon 8mm PL

It's nice to see such familiar names on these forums commenting on my stuff. Thanks a lot guys!

The next one will definitely be a little shorter and more diverse. Thanks to all for the constructive criticism.

Looks real good bro, the only thing that really bothered me was the compression. Way too compressed and you can really see blocking in the clip. I think it would look steller at a higher bit rate.
I agree wit the general consensus about the lenght. Better to be a little too short and leave 'em wanting more.

Justin,

I have been thinking about getting the Birger mount and Canon lenses to supplement my Red 18-50.

My main concern has been how easy it is to swap between the PL-mount and the Birger mount during a shoot.

Can it safely be done? If so, how long does it take each time?

Thanks,
Antony
