  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Help! I need someone who can turn this shot into a good day-for-night.

Sad but true. Shot one year, but needed this year when the matching scene turned out to be later in the evening than anticipated. There's no way to use or change any shot except this one. Fortunately, it is a single-shot scene and the camera does not move at all.

Can it be done without it costing a fortune?

Thanks much.

Stephen

Quick try. Mostly curves and a little color shift. It would really help to see the new scene.

Some curves, desaturation, & a blue color overlay in Photoshop.

But seeing the other shots in the scene would be extremely helpful. :wink5:

Stephen,

Yes it can be done without costing a fortune, I'd be happy to give it a try. But I would need:
a) a few frames from the later scene to get an idea of what tone/look we need to match to. A small movie of the scene would be great too.
b) a good TIFF, or set of TIFFS from this scene so I can work on a high quality file. a good quality MOV or AVI file of the scene wouldn't hurt either.
c) Finally, if you like the look achieved, then of course, the full R3D would be needed.

I'll be happy to try it but so that I don't waste my time, I'd need the items mentioned on a and b above.

Hey, guys. . . this is great.

Here is what we WANTED to do, but you'll notice there are some continuity problems with the actress in view in this instance. The next scene is dark of night (also attached. . . with the cab). Rudi, I'm sending you a PM.

Thanks!

Stephen

And the next shot. . . tried to put in the previous post, but failed. BTW, these are JPEGs pulled from the proxy images. No color correcting of any sort has been done to them.

Did you get it worked out?

Did you get it worked out?

If you haven't worked it out yet, I think I may be able to but would also need the R3D or at least a full-resolution TIF to know for sure. Stretching the compressed JPG has limitations.

If you still need assistance, PM me.

Here is what we WANTED to do

Here's my rough match to that shot. I corrected the talent and BG separately, so this look requires some rotoscoped masks, which may or may not be pretty labour intensive, depends on the content of the shot.
