Is it just me, or is dynamic linking from Premiere Pro to After Effects buggy? I can't send a sequence from Premiere to AE, it arrives as a black composition.

If I initiate dynamic linking from AE, it works fine.

BTW, sending to Encore from PPro works OK.

What's your experience?

no problem here....

i usually make a new dynamic link comp in ae....
then in ae import the project into the new comp...

so far so good...no black sequences...

what if you copy paste a sequence...?(just copy paste...no dynamic link)
still the same issues?

Thank you!
Yes, it works for me too when I import from AE, but I can't send from Premiere. I was just wondering if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong.

Cut-n-paste works, but like an import of a Premiere project, not like dynamic linking.

Uli,

To me, it worked from PP to AE, but once closing AE then, the content gets offline on PP.

buggy...

buggy...

I had serious trouble with dynamic linking, esp to media encoder, there were times I was unable to export anything from Premiere at all. It was resolved after reinstall and update to new versions of Prem and encoder. However, Adobe support forums are full of complaints on this, I worry - that was the only hope for me these days, the fact I was not alone noticing this..

It simply may happen and if, then hard to help

Well, I just wanted to make sure it was not some mistake on my side. It works quite OK if I initiate the process from AE.

Uli,

To me, it worked from PP to AE, but once closing AE then, the content gets offline on PP.

if you close AE during the session....it will go offline.

but if you close premiere, then AE,....then re-open premiere and go back into the project your AE clips will be there without AE open.
