Hey everyone, I'm transcoding some footage in Red Rushes of a short film I shot last week on the Red in RK HD. Everything worked great, but I've got a problem with one specific R3D. When I open the QT Proxy, all that appears in quicktime is a solid green frame. When I press play, the video plays through normally. When I drag this into Red Rushes and try to convert it, it just says "error" and skips over the file.

This is an incredibly important shot! What can I do!? I need it as an HD Quicktime Log file!

Thanks

The file will not open in RA. The proxies that the Red generates work just fine, they just initially have a green screen for whatever reason. But neither Red Alert nor Red Rushes seems to be able to handle it.

Let's ask Deanan...

Jim

It sounds like a corrupt file. Can you email me (deanan a t red) and we'll see if we can recover it. It sounds like we should be able to.

Deanan,

Can you share your method for fixing the corrupt files. Any third party software needed?

Thanks,

Von

It's a very manual process of figuring out what part is corrupt and then figuring out how to fix it.

In this case, Rob (Thanks Rob!) had to do some manual reconstructive surgery. Rob can see REDcode like in the Matrix :)
