  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Are you guys doing the grading in something like Color, on the R3D's, or exporting 4k tiffs from RA or what have you and tweaking in Photoshop/whathaveyou?


Or doing a combination of the two?

Really impressive stuff, again.

Thanks Andrew but we can't take credit on the retouching for this one.

We do a lot of post though that starts with a preliminary grade on the r3d to get the best file possible before exporting the 4K tiffs. You have to jump through a few hoops to get proper color in the tiff files... Just opening the 4K tiff in PS looks nothing like what you see in RA or RC. (Hopefully we will get some ICC support in REDcine X) Then from there as long as the file has been exposed properly you can really get a lot out of the files.

These are awesome looking. So incredibly slick.

Question though, are there any larger copies of these pictures anywhere? These are amazing, but i'd be interested in seeing them larger.

Also, did you have any issues with noise? They just look so clean for some of these scenes being so dark, and I was wondering if you had to do anything in post to make them look so sharp, or if it's just because they are smaller copies of the original shots?

There are some larger versions of the files on Steven Klein's site. You will probably want to take a look at the magazine though.
 
I have also used my Red for the sole purpose of shooting stills...

It was great because I got to choose the exact moment of the model's gate that made her legs look the best.

It looks like that BW would never forget DM.

His brand new woman looks as she would be DM's much younger sister (or even could be a daughter :patriot:).

The photographers now finally realizing that RED1 is even better photo camera then 5DM2 that wants to take a part of RED1 movie "cake" :001_smile:

Also it's all about sex in a fitness studio... more or less... :reddevil:
